Louise Aurelia Griffin Marsh

Age 91, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2023 surrounded by her family.  Louise was born April 12, 1932 to the late Walter and Marion Cleveland Griffin in Elmira, NY.  She grew up on a dairy farm in Millerton, PA, which continued to be one of her special places to spend time.  Louise graduated from Mansfield College in 1954 where she met and married the love of her life and best friend, Tallie H. Marsh. They shared sixty-eight wonderful years of marriage together.  She fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a teacher and taught elementary school for thirty-five years, ending her career teaching fifth grade at Center St. School in Horseheads.
Louise’s life focused on her family, their milestones big and small and all the special moments in between.  She enjoyed being a mother, a grandmother, and was blessed to know and love seven great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed teaching her family all the many things that she experienced growing up and was a wonderful story-teller.  She loved teaching school, ballroom dancing, reading, camping, sewing, knitting, and trips to Cape Cod.
In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by her loving children, Ellen (Lyle) Death of Orchard Park, NY and Tallie (Colleen) Marsh of Phoenixville, PA.; grandchildren, Sara (Baker) Thompson, Amy (Larry) Seivert, Landon Marsh, and Jack Marsh; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Penny, and Paige Thompson, and Levi, Lucy, Eliza and Maeve Seivert. Sister Dolores (Albert) Wheeler & Brother, Bob (Sandra) Griffin and many nieces and nephews.  Louise was predeceased by sisters Myrtle Cook, Blanche Horton, Myra Benson, Susie Benson and Dora Landon..
