Linda M. Snyder
Age 74 of Elmira, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Robert Packer Hospital.
Linda was born on August 13, 1948 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Glenn and Mary Eleanor (Charron) Snyder.
Linda attended St. Peter and Paul's School and Elmira College. She spent most of her time as a homemaker and later worked in healthcare and child care. Linda loved reading, art, music, and dancing. She enjoyed going to the lake, shopping, and decorating. Linda had a love for her plants and enjoyed gardening. She was very close to her family, many friends and was a well loved member of the community. She was especially close to her grandchildren. Linda's religion was important to her. She was a member of a prayer group, saying the rosary everyday. She was always willing to listen, give advice, or just be a shoulder to cry on. Linda will be extremely missed. Linda regularly donated to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
Linda is survived by her daughters, Ashley (Kenneth) Williams of Elmira, NY, Christine (Steve) Durant of Tolar, TX; sisters, Patricia Giadom of Corning, NY, Sandy Miller of Avon, NY, Tina Wallace, Carol (Rick Miles) Snyder, Terry ( Jeff Montayne) Snyder; brother, Glenn Snyder, III all of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Malaki and Imani Banks, Amiya, Bryson, and Collin Williams, Jada and Jazmin Stowe, Lauren (Dustin) Fisher, Kelsey Brown, Terry Brown; several great-grandchildren; special nieces, Tammy (Andrey) Henderson, Nikita Wallace, and several other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by her sons, James (Jim) Voorhees, Jr, Jackie Stowe, Jr.; and sister, Vickie Snyder-Arnold.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a Memorial Mass to follow at 12:00 PM. A celebration of life will follow the mass at the V.F.W. Post 901, 113 Keefe St., Elmira at 2:00 PM.
