Lewis S. Vosburg, Jr., age 76, of Elmira, NY died Friday, October 18, 2002 at Robert Packer Hospital-Guthrie, Sayre.Mr. Vosburg was born April 12, 1926 at Dansville, NY the son of the late Lewis S. and the late Ina Vosburg, Sr.He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947 during World War II war.He was employed by Dresser-Rand, Painted Post, NY until his retirement in 1988. Lewis had a wonderful sense of humor and was a loving and devoted husband father, grandfather and friend. He not only loved people but also animals and he spent much of his time outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, cross country sking and at age 65 he decided it was time to start downhill sking. Lewis always had a smile on his face and was especially happy watching his granddaughter play her cello, or his grandson wrestling, or his great grandson play soccer. He was an avid Elmira Jackals fan and enjoyed the Elmira Pioneers baseball team. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Sladky) Vosburg. Sons; Paul and Ronald Vosburg. Daughter; Lorraine (Stephen) Picard and daughter, Deanna. Granddaughter, Tammy (Dave) Jones, son Christopher and his grandson Ronald Vosburg Jr., granddaughter Kim and Dave Tretowicz and their children, Alyssa and Adam, Sister Marian Sconten and Chet Vosburg. Also survived by several inlaws. He will be missed dearly by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and will live on forever in their hearts and memmories. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 at Woodlawn National Cemetery, 1825 Davis St., Elmira with Rev. Howard L. Hunt officiating. Full military honors will be accorded at the grave by the Chemung County Honor Guard.
