Lena Suzanne â??Sue�? Gillmer

Age 86, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 23, 2002 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Sue is survived by her nieces; Cheryl Conover of Spencer, NY and Doris Earnest of Elmira, NY, cousins; Marilyn (Bob) Butler of Millerton, PA, Betty Chase of Millport, NY, many other cousins, special friends; Dorthea Wagner, June Shannon and Meghan Mack, a host of friends from the Elmira Wesleyan Church, sister-in-law; Laura Gillmer of Dansville, NY and several nieces and nephews of the Gillmer family. Sue was a teacher in the Elmira area for many years beginning in the rural one room schoolhouses. Her final year of teaching was spent at Edgeworth Elementary School on Elmira?s Southside. She was very active within the church community as a Sunday School Teacher and served many years as the Sunday School Superintendent of the Elementary department. Sue took care of all who crossed a path into her life. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY 14904 on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 from 2 to 4pm. Following visitation, all are invited for a time of fellowship and refreshment at the Elmira Wesleyan Church, 1100 S. Main Street, Elmira, NY 14904. Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening, September 25, 2002 at 7pm at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. The Rev. Edward Crandall will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Knowlton Cemetery in Marshlands, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Sue?s name to the Elmira Wesleyan Church.
