Laura M. Drake Stevenson

SYRACUSE – LAURA DRAKE STEPHENSON, 89 of SYRACUSE (formerly of Elmira) NY passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018.Laura Manzari was born in 1928 in Elmira, New York the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora Manzari. She was pre-deceased by her husband's Thomas Drake and Robert Stephenson and sister-in-law Teresa Manzari.Laura was an honor graduate of Southside High School and honor graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira where she was a staff member. Laura is survived by her children Tom (Gloria) Drake, Mark (Michelle) Drake, Tony (Mary) Drake, Greg (Lisa) Drake, Jackie (Jeff) Bargelski, her brothers Vito (Giovanna) Manzari, Joseph Manzari, Dr. John (Sharon) Manzari, her brother-in-law Art Drake, grandchildren Haley (Chris) Reckling, Tom (Kathy) Drake, Zack Drake, Katie Drake, Alayna Drake, Alex Drake, Sydney Drake, Brad Bargelski, Nick Bargelski, Sarah Bargelski, step-sons Allan (Debbie) Stephenson, Warren (Darlene) Stephenson and many loving nieces and nephews. Laura’s life was one of love, hope, overcoming many challenges, and always making life interesting for all those she touched. She was full of curiosity about the world and a life-long learner. Fun to be around and full of stories and observations, she will be truly missed by many, never forgotten and always loved. A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 from 1 PM to 2 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY with a memorial service to immediately follow.
