Kenneth R. "Ken" Tuller Age 84, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 following complications of a stroke. He was born January 12, 1934 in Elmira, NY and raised on a dairy farm in the Hornell area. A graduate of Hornell High School, he settled in Elmira in the 1950's. Ken was an active, hardworking man with a very strong work ethic, believing in honest labor and self-reliance. He worked in a wide variety of occupations, including meat salesman (Russer Meats), meat cutter (Elmira Provision), machinist (Remington Rand), truck driver for local food services, and later as van driver and custodian for the Chemung County Library District. He had a passionate interest in gardening and kept his family well supplied with fresh vegetables. As a side business, he also tilled many gardens in the Elmira area for several years. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sylvia F. Tuller; sons, Timothy (Hayley) Tuller of Jacksonville, FL; Gary Tuller of Elmira; daughters, Wendy Tuller-Gent of Cape Coral, FL; Mary MacKoul of Florida; Teresa (Juan) Rodriguez of Garland, TX; step-daughter, Lisa (Anton) Vandeplas of Avila Beach, CA; brothers, Lynn (Patricia) Wood Jr. of Kent, NY; Charles E. (Linda) Wood of Big Flats, NY; grandchildren, Jessica VanWie; Tom (Jeanna), Alex, John, Michael, and Jasmine Rodriguez; nieces, Susyn (Mark) Tillman, Karen (Charles) Cardone, and Amanda Wilson; nephews, Christopher (Casey) Wood, and Jason (Holly) Wood; along with several grandnieces, grandnephews, and three cherished felines. Ken was predeceased by his first wife, Jessica Krocynski Tuller, in January 1964. Ken was very dedicated to the well-being of his home and family and will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home 1050 Pennsylvania Ave, Elmira, NY on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral services celebrating Ken's life will follow the visitation at 2 pm. Pastor Cynthia Huling-Hummelwill officiate.
