Kathryn E. Riff

Age 53, of Elmira, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 9, 2006. Kathryn is survived by her loving children, Kristen E. (Riff) (Ben) Chaffee; Douglas Riff; Teresa Riff; and Gregory Riff; grandson, Caleb Chaffee; mother, Rose (Doug) Thomas; sister, Ann McCawley; brother, Joseph Carapella; sisters, Mary Fairchild; Jean Valentine; and Julie Stafford; brother, Stephen Carapella; long time loving companion, David Andrews; and several nieces and nephews. Her father, Joseph Carapella,predeceased her. Kathryn was the Director of the Corning Woman?s Bowling Association (USBA), a former Girl Scout leader, and was formerly employed by Community National Bank, Fleet Bank, and HSBC Bank. Kathryn loved to watch Hummingbirds, enjoyed playing the organ, a good game of Bingo, and making homemade candy. But most of all, she loved her children and grandson. Family and friends are invited to to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Monday, February 13, 2006 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, with Funeral Service there Tuesday at 10:30 AM.Father Rick Farrell will officiate.Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Caton, NY at the convenience of the family.
