Karen M. Woodard-Blampied

Age 53 of Elmira, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family, after her courageous battle with cancer.

Karen was born October 3, 1968 in Elmira, NY.

She was a United States Army Reservist and graduated from Corning Community College. Karen was a long-standing registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where it wasn’t only a career, it was a family. She was passionate about cooking, sharing recipes and traveling, her favorite place was Aruba.

Karen is survived by her husband, Timothy Blampied; children, Tanner (Emily) Lunduski and Carley Blampied (Freddie); granddaughter, Olivia Rose Lunduski; mother, Barbara Gray (Lenny); father Michael (Cindi) Woodard; sisters Carolyn Woodard, Lorene Woodard-Miller (Matt); step sister Kassandra (Jake) Irwin; and like a sister (cousin) Kathy (Dave) Jaynes, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her beloved fur babies, Bear and Snickers.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Penna. Ave., Elmira, NY on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a funeral service there at 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Falck Cancer Center Patient Fund or SPCA in Karen’s memory. There will be a celebration of Karen’s life luncheon Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Elmira Correctional Facility Clubhouse.
