Joseph H. Parsons

Parsons, Joseph H. 90 of Maple Avenue, Elmira, NY; passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 29th, 2023. Joe was born the son of the late Hubert and Rosamond (Belknap) Parsons, September 29, 1933. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his dearly missed son Joseph D. Parsons in 2002. Joe is survived by his wife and best friend of 65 years Gayle (Clinton) Parsons of Elmira; Son and daughter in law: Miles (Sheri) Parsons of Elmira; Daughter and son in law: Kim (Craig) Carlin of Erin; Grandchildren: Matthew (Meghan) Parsons, Timothy Parsons, Cameron (Nikki) Wisniewski, Tyler (Jess) Wisniewski, Alivia Vandaalen with 7 Great grandchildren; In service to his country he served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Joe was an avid nascar fan and a collector of fine coins and  interesting properties. His hobby was to read everything he could find. Joe was the "People Person"; He absolutely loved people. Joe would go out of his way to meet new people. He cherished his many Sundays at his church Christian Faith Fellowship and his extended church family. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY from 10:00am to 12:00pm Friday January 5th, 2024. Funeral and committal services will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 12:15pm. His friend Reverend Jim Crupi with Son Reverend Stephen Crupi will officiate.  Private graveside services will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family with full military honors accorded.
