John W. Dowdle

ELMIRA – John W. Dowdle, 78, of Elmira, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022.  Born on September 15, 1944, in Elmira, NY, he was the son of the late John T. and Marita (Dunkle) Dowdle.

For 20 years, John worked for Seneca Beverage Company and then went on to work for John G. Ryan, Inc. retiring in 2012.

He enjoyed riding his Harleys and collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia.  More than anything, he cherished the time that he shared with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his aunt, Catherine Robinson.

He is survived by his partner, Sharon New of Elmira; his sons, Steven Dowdle of Elmira, Timothy Dowdle of Elmira; his grandchildren, Hannah (Nick) Cosmore, Perris Dowdle (Madison Jurusik), Colin Dowdle (Chloe McNaney), Isabella Dowdle; and his great-grandchildren, Lillian Cosmore and Olive Dowdle.
