Joel Lynn Brown

Age 59, of Port Richey, Florida and formerly of Wellsburg, NY passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 after battling a long illness. Joel was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth; parents, Stuart and Janice; and his big brother, Mark. Joel leaves behind his daughters, Nadine, Nicole and Natalie; grandchildren, Kiersten, Jilliann, Jayden, Gabby, Rachel, Hallie, Amelia and Carmine; siblings, Stu, Barbara (Michael) Maines, Carolyn (Steven) Becraft and Lisa (Chris) Wieland; and his step-mother, Barbara; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Joel was born and raised in Wellsburg, NY and made several life-long friends along his life’s journey. Joel was a kindhearted, caring and easy-going soul, who in his younger years before his illness took over his life, loved his girls and cherished the time he spent with them. He shared all his favorite past times with them such as, Yankees baseball, NASCAR, concerts, camping, gardening, diving for sponges and surprise road trips. In the last few years of his life, he was seeking out the things of God. His favorite bible verse was Psalm 139: 14 which reads, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” A memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the Pine City Baptist Church, 1516 Pennsylvania Avenue in Pine City with the Reverend Sabrina Smith, officiating. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in Joel’s name to the Renovation House, 379 Dean Creek Road, Spencer, NY 14883 (a Christ Centered Residential Treatment Facility).
