JoAnn L. Storms passed away on March 9, 2024 while at home with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Elmira, New York on September 29, 1954 to Ramona L. (Strope) and John C. Liquori, Sr. She was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy. She went on to marry the love of her life, Don Storms, and together they built their life and raised their family in Elmira.
JoAnn's hobbies varied throughout the years, from cooking and baking to crocheting and attending to her "squirrel family." But nothing meant more to her than her family especially the time she spent playing with her grandchildren. She was the foundation of the family and always emphasized their importance. She took the lead by planning all of the family reunions, get-togethers and dinners. JoAnn would spend hours in the kitchen pouring her love into whatever she was making, but will be remembered most by her friends and family for her famous lasagna. JoAnn glowed with happiness watching her family sit down to enjoy one of her meals. That’s when she was truly at her happiest.
She was preceded in death by: her parents John C. and Ramona L. (Strope) Liquori, Sr.; siblings - Marjorie Liquori, John Liquori, Jr., and Theresa (Liquori) Sales; and son-in-law Brian Bohlayer, Sr.
JoAnn is survived by: her beloved husband of 44 years, Don Storms; her daughters - Melissa Rose, Michelle Probst, Terri Bohlayer and partner Joe Matthews, and Amy Storms and partner Eric Sinblinger; her sons - Kyle Storms and wife Christina, and Adam Storms and partner Karen Heim; siblings - Tony Liquori and wife Debbie, Michael Liquori and wife Marlene, and Patrick Liquori; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion Buddy.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2024 with a Celebration of Life service officiated by her nephew the Reverend Thadius E. Sales to follow at 2:00 PM at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, New York 14904.
JoAnn's family entrusted her care to Kalec Funeral Home, and other arrangements to Olthof Funeral Home. JoAnn's family would like to extend their thanks to Kalec Funeral Home, and to the staff at Olthof Funeral Home for their generosity during this difficult time.
