Janice E. Dufrain

ELMIRA – Janice E. Dufrain, 67 of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 13, 2022 after a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

Born on August 8, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Grace (Angel) Long.

Jan spent her career working in Administration at the Elmira Psychiatric Center. After retirement, she went to work for Family Services of Chemung County.

Jan greatest joy in life was being "Mema" to her grandson Dominick and their dog Rocky. She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed going for long walks with Dom and Rocky and tending to her gardens. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit that often shared more than she had to give.

Jan was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Dufrain; and her brother, Donald Gaboriault.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Dufrain (Justin Kinney) of Elmira; her grandson, Dominick Thomas Faulisi; her brothers, Richard Gaboriault of Horseheads, Chris (Louise) Harvey of Erin, Jon (April) Harvey of New Mexico; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.

In respect of Jan's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions in memory of Janice Elayne Dufrain can be made to any local Cancer Center, Children's Program or Animal Shelter.
