Was born April 4, 1935 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Paul and Helen Freeman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 78. Her loving husband of 53 years, Richard W. Snyder Jr. preceded her in death on September 23, 2006. Her brother-in-laws, John "Jackie" Snyder, Fred (Gail) Snyder; sister-in-law, Betty (Ansel) Miller also predeceased her. Janet is survived by her beloved children, Suzanne (Robert) Donaldson, Keith (Ann) Snyder, Karen (Frank) Walker, Michael Snyder, Brian Snyder, Wendy (Rob) Southard, Jason (Rene) Snyder and Tammy Miele; much loved grandchildren, Jack (Linda) Snyder, Bobby (Amy) Snyder, James Donaldson, John Paul Donaldson, Justin (Kristin) Donaldson, Chad (April) Donaldson, Jeremy (Susan) Walker Sr., Rebecca Walker (Justin VanRiper), Bradley Snyder, Joshua Snyder, Rachel Snyder, Bryana Snyder, Bryce Van DeWark, Brody and Brayden Snyder and Andria Walker; along with many adored great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends; special friends, Bonnie and Jack Keefe. Janet retired from Hardinge Inc. after several years of dedicated service. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts which lead to her beloved Richard becoming a Boy Scout Leader. She was an avid Avon promoter, enjoyed sewing and volunteered faithfully for the voting commission. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM and 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will follow the visitation at 6 PM. The Reverend Mark Erway will celebrate Janet's life. Interment will take place on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
