Jane H. Coulter
of Big Flats, NY and formerly of Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Carl F. Henkel, Jr. and Eleanor Welles Henkel. She was born in Big Flats, NY on August 18th, 1937. Jane passed away on January 24th, 2023, peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Jane graduated from Corning Free Academy in 1955 and attended Rochester Institute of Technology, where she met her husband, John Richard Coulter. She enjoyed bass fishing on Seneca Lake, sewing, tennis, ice dancing, and cooking. Jane was an avid reader, and a member of the Big Flats Historical Society. She was a gracious hostess to her family and friends, and their dogs.
Jane is survived by her three children, son, Steven (Laurie) Coulter, daughter, Christine (Alec) Wolcott, son, Matthew (Ellen) Coulter; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Jane was predeceased by her husband, John Richard Coulter; her twin sister, Mary Solomon; brother-in-law, Len Solomon; and niece Stacy Solomon.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service honoring Jane's life on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Quackenbush Hill Baptist Church, 4371 College Ave., Corning, NY 14830. Pastor Dan Barner will officiate.
