James Brian Nelson

James Brian Nelson Born December 10, 1973 in Elmira, the son of Terrence and Mary Jane (Rowsey) Nelson, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2017 with family by his side at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 43. His beloved father, Terrence preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Jane Nelson; children: son, Anthony Northrup, daughter, Austin Nelson, daughter, Gabbrielle Nelson, and son, Noah Nelson; grandson, Jakob Jameson Nicholas Hatt; siblings: sister, Janeane (Herb) Green, sister, Terri Linn Pierce, brother, Terrence J. (Andrea) Nelson II; nieces: Monica Green, Amanda Green (Josh) Ward, Laura (Cody) Wenzel; nephew: Cliff (Trish) Pierce III; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. James worked tirelessly. He was a hard worker, a good man and a friend to all. He could always be heard saying, "I'm being strong, I'm fighting and I'm staying strong". He will be missed but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to attend Graveside Services on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Jerusalem Hill) at 3:00 pm. The Rev. Paul Mather will officiate. The family also invites friends and family to attend a Calling Hour after the Graveside Service at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 325 - 327 Lake Street, Elmira, NY at 4:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Dinner.
