James Cooper

James  W, Cooper, a native and resident of Elmira, NY, passed away on January 24, 2025. He was 64 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Lois (Lumbard) Cooper, his daughter Jaimie Cooper, his mother-in-law Lorraine (VanHouten) Van Horn and father-in-law Dennis Montgomery, Sr.

He is survived by: his beloved wife of 37 years Mary Ann (Montgomery) Cooper; his daughter Kristen Cooper and husband Jonathan; his sister Sherri (Cooper) Schrock and husband Hal; his brothers-in-law Dennis Montgomery and wife Andrea, and Brian Montgomery; sister-in-law Mary Cabaniss; his father-in-law James Van Horn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his brothers and sisters at the Southport Volunteer Fire Department.

Friends and family are invited to Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue in Elmira, NY for a visitation on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, when a Fireman’s Funeral will begin.
