Jack Rogers Westbrook

Jack Rogers Westbrook, age 73, of Elmira, NY, passed away June 6 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Jack was born August 5, 1948, in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Jack E. and Gladys Westbrook.
Jack grew up and graduated from high school in Athens, PA, before beginning a lifelong career in music, teaching countless students across the local area. He arrived at Big Flats United Methodist Church in 1974 and served its congregation for nearly 50 years as a dedicated church member, choir director, and organist. Jack was also an avid fisherman, dedicated reader, and devoted father, grandfather, and husband.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shelley, and his children: Jack Jr. (Cindy) Westbrook of Hilton, NY; Kimberly (Shannon) Westbrook Dildine of Sayre, PA; Andrew (Karly) Westbrook of Big Flats, NY; and Jesse (Rebecca) Westbrook of Durham, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Talia, Molly, and Kevin (Jack), Elijah (Andrew), and three others (Kimberly). He was predeceased by his brother, Gary (Connie) McEwen of Towanda, PA.
Calling hours will be at Olthof Funeral Home in Southport, NY, from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, June 15, with a private family service to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira the following day. A memorial service will be held at Big Flats United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 18th at 11 AM.
