THORNTON, Jack W.Age 87, of Pine City, NY passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Patricia M. & Robert Lambert with whom he resided in Pine City, NY, Lois Jane Hershey of Mansfield, PA, 11 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren, sister; Jean Wilcox of Wellsville, NY. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy M. Thornton on August 7, 1991 and sisters; Thelma Hass and Alice Magee. Jack was a former member of the Big Flats Masonic Lodge, and a retired employee of Trayer Products, Inc. In his younger days Jack was a volunteer fireman and an avid bowler. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Friday, March 28, 2003 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there Friday at 7:00 PM. His nephew, the Reverend Richard Hass, will officiate. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will provide their flowers, those wishing may make memorials to the Arnot Ogden Foundation, C/O Arnot Ogden Medical Center, 600 Roe Ave. Elmira, NY. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful care and kindness given to their father by the entire staff of 4D at Arnot Ogden Medical Center during his stay.
