Irene Tarafas

Irene Tarafas, 81 of Gillett, PA passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 14, 2018. Irene was predeased by her loving husband of 55 years, Ivan Tarafas. Irene is survived by her dear friends, Margaret and Richard Kuhn and Charlotte Pickelhaupt; neighbors, Mike Comfort and Marge Pellor. Irene enjoyed having her friends visit and preparing lovely meals for them. She enjoyed her trips to the casino and going on yearly cruises with Ivan. She was a loving wife and friend who will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A special thanks to Marge Pellor for all her love and care she gave to Irene. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira at 11 am. Burial will immediately follow in Gillett Cemetery, Gillett, PA where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
