Irene E. Spencer

Irene E. Spencer, 70, of Elmira passed away at home on Saturday, September 30, 2017 surrounded by family. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Nettie and Edwin Ellis; and step-mother, Ethel Wendling. Irene is survived by her daughter, Tina (Dan) Wilber; grandchildren, Valerie (Chris) Wadley, Victoria Garris, Tonya (Pat) Ziegler and James (Nikki) McCoy; 16 great-grandchildren and very special friend, Sally Rine. Irene was a graduate of Southside High School. She enjoyed having her family around her, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 12 to 2 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2 PM. Irene will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery, Lowman, NY immediately following the funeral service.
