Coleman, Iona J. age 71 of the Edward Flannery Apartments, Elmira, NY Was unexpectedly blessed into peaceful rest Thursday, June 21st, 2001 at home. Iona was the daughter of the late Richard and Virginia Wood Daily. She was born July 18th, 1929. Surviving Iona is her loving children George (Sheila) Coleman Jr. of Pine City, NY Carol (John) Novick of Elmira, Mark (Carol) Coleman of Elmira Heights, Joseph (Sandy) Coleman of Horseheads, NY. 10 cherished grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 3 sisters Florence Altieri of Pine City, EvelynHarndon of Coopers Plains, and Patty (Harry) Clemens of Newport News, VA.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Sunday, June 24th, 2001 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Funeral and committal service will take place there at the conclusion of the calling hours at 4:00pm. The ReverendJames Payne will officiate. Iona was a devoted member of the Hand and Hand Free Methodist Church. She devoted many rewarding hours to the church and its members over the many years she served as a member. Iona was also rewarded in life with her involvement in the Senior Companion Program. A program centered around helping adults with disabilities live on their own.Those new her best for the love she shared with her children and grandchildren.All the special unplanned trips to get icecream, and the many friends that surrounded Iona. This wonderful loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who was always ready to go, will never be forgotten.
