Howard L. Jay

Howard L. Jay, Jr. (1934-2022) Age 87 of Elmira, NY, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Howard was born on October 23, 1934, the son of the late Howard L. Jay, Sr. and Frances Jay. Howard is survived by his loving daughters, Deborah Jay and Linda Jay of Elmira, NY; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Rebecca Jay of Adamstown, MD; grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, and Megan Jay; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Richard) Mosteller, Joann (Ronald) Bement, Rosemarie Holleran; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Janet) Holleran, Eugene (Sandy) Holleran, Paul (Linda) Holleran, Willie (Denise) Holleran; several nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Peggy) Jay in 2012. He served in the U.S. Army from September 1957 to September 1959. Howard was employed with Sears and Roebuck for 38 years and was an Elmira City School Crossing Guard for 15 years. Friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Penna. Ave., Elmira, NY, on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with funeral and committal services there following at 6:00 PM. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
