Herbert J. Comfort

COMFORT, Herbert J.Age 92 passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at the VA Hospital in Bath, NY after a battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his devoted, loving and faithful wife of 53 years, Marta (Martha) Teus Comfort, his parents, his brothers, Merrill E. Comfort, Lawrence L. Comfort and Roger I. Comfort, sisters, Bernice Comfort Stage and Eleanor Comfort Eccles. He is survived by his sister, Miriam Comfort Sabatini of Watkins Glen, NY and brother, Bernard W. (Wanda) Comfort of Baldwinsville, NY and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.Mr. Comfort was a veteran of World War II serving in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge ending his career in 1946 with 17 years of military service with the US Army. He was employed by Remington-Rand Division of Sperry-Rand Corp. as a heat treater, which he did until his retirement. He, along with his wife, was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In respect of his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Mr. Comfort will be cremated and laid to rest beside his loving wife in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira.
