Helen G. Labrecque

LaBrecque, Helen Griswold,Age 92 of Elmira, NY died Saturday, June 29, 2002.A resident of Woodbrook, she was born January 9, 1910 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie Matthews Griswold.She married her husband, Theodore A. LaBrecque, July 20, 1932.He predeceased her in 1964.Helen was also predeceased by her son, Alexander, in 2001; an infant daughter, Jeanne; her brothers, Loren, Maurice, and Richard Griswold; and her sisters, Irene Jones, Myrle VanGelder, and Pauline Kelley. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne ?Bonnie? Enders and her husband John Enders, of Erie, PA; daughter-in-law, Rosette LaBrecque of Horseheads, NY; 2 sisters, Kathleen Mannix and Marie Smith, both of Elmira; brother-in-law, Lawrence Kelley; sister-in-law, Annette Griswold; her six grandchildren, Elisee and Michelle LaBrecque; Nicole Foucher; Amy Enders Walsh; Theodore and Alexander Enders; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Helen graduated from the Arnot Ogden School of Nursing in 1930, and was active in Notre Dame High School, St. Patrick?s Parish, and the Girl Scouts.Her many interests included travel, bridge, gardening, and golf. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave, Elmira, NY on Friday, July 5, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick?s Church in Elmira at 10 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2002 with Father Walter Wainwright as Celebrant.Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul?s Cemetery, Elmira.Donations in Helen?s memory may be made to Woodbrook, 1250 Maple Ave., Elmira, NY 14904.
