Helen M. Dehaas

Helen M. DeHaas was born August 24, 1948 in Elmira, NY the daughter of Harold & Dortha (Kohler) Heeman passed away very unexpectedly at her home on Friday, September 7, 2018. Her loving husband, Kenneth L. DeHaas preceded her in death April 17, 1998. Her Father, Harold; step-father, Kenneth Mattison; brother, Harold Heeman also predeceased her in death. She is survived by her beloved mother, Dortha Mattison; sister-in-law, Bonnie Heeman; nieces and nephews; Mary Heeman, John Morrison, Spencer (Kristen) Morrison, Christopher (Jessica) Heeman, Desmond Heeman; Nieces, Marty, Mary, and Morgan Just; along with other relatives and many friends. Helen enjoyed camping, going to the fairs, crocheting, gardening, NASCAR andmotorcycles. She will be fondly remembered as a bag lady with a stack of hats. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Graveside services will follow the visitation in the Chemung Cemetery. Lay Minister Lew Ann Giles will officiate.
