WELLSBURG – Harold Washburn, Jr.,74, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021, after a long battle with cancer at the Bath VA Hospital in Bath, NY.Born on August 6, 1946, in Batavia, NY, he was the son of the late Harold Washburn, Sr. and Elizabeth (Learn) Washburn.He graduated from Union Springs Academy, Union Springs, NY and Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.He was an electrician by trad and he worked in Africa building a hospital through his church.These where some of the happiest days of his life.He served his country in the US Army while stationed in Okinawa until being honorably discharged in 1969. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rita (Lloyd) Jacobs; and his brother, Clair Washburn. He is survived by his sister, Nancy (Ed) Happ of East Pembroke; his nieces, Sue (Bob) Anthony, Julie (Greg) Fuller, Lisa (Ken) Friedmann; his nephew, Bruce (Marilee) Jacobs; several great nieces, nephews, several great-great nieces, nephews; along with cousins and many good friends.Harold was a loving caring person who always put the needs of others before his own needs. Friends may call from 12-1 pm with a service to follow on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the Elmira Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 813 Maple Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904.Interment will take place onThursday, July 1, 2021, in Hinsdale Cemetery in Hinsdale, NY.
