Farmer, Harold Russell Retired Railroad Conductor Age 82, of Pine City, NY and Zephryhills, FL, passed away very unexpectedly while playing cards with friends in Gem Estates.He was born on February 13, 1919 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Charles R. and Ethel Christiansen Farmer.He was a graduate of Southside High and Cornell Agriculture College.Harold was employed for 38 years as a conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad.He raised and sold produce along with his family for six generations in the Pine City area.He is survived by: his loving wife; Mary Sterling Farmer with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 29, 2001, son George and Joan Farmer and there children, Edward (Lori) Farmer, Wendy (Mark) McDonald; daughter Marilyn Mosher and her dear friend Ken Norman, and her children, Jason Mosher, Scott (Elizabeth) Mosher, and Matthew Mosher; son-in-law, David L. Mosher;great-grandchildren; Jenna and Amy Farmer, Mikel and Krystofer Mosher, brothers-in-law; Gerald (Mary) Sterling, John (Phyllis) Sterling, special cousin; Alan Albert, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.Also surviving Harold are: special friends Lester (Johanna) Ott and his very dear ?second family? in Gem Estates.He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles (Evelyn) Farmer and Carl (Mary) Farmer.Harold was well known in the area for his love of gardening the Earth.His ?green thumb? produced luscious vegetables and gorgeous flower gardens.He shared the results of his labors with all.In his retirement years, he watered in the greenhouses for his son and grandson and was affectionately known as the ?Hydro Engineer?.His enjoyment of growing strawberries for the family business was only equaled to his joy in eating them.Harold loved his family and was well known for his interesting and funny letters he wrote while residing in Florida.Everyone knew he always had a joke to share.
