Grazia M. Decker

Decker, Grazia M., Age 94 of Mt. Zoar Rd., Elmira, died peacefully at home on May 24th.She was the wife of Ellsworth Decker, who preceded her in death in 1993, and mother of James Decker of Mt. Zoar Road and Randolph Decker, who passed away in 2001.Grazia was born in Berwick, PA, and then moved to Elmira as a young child.She received her education in local schools.Grazia was the eldest child of James and Lydia Sherman and big sister to brothers, Elwood Sherman and Loring Sherman, also deceased.Grazia was Grandma-Nana to nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.In her younger years, she was very involved in children?s Bible classes and volunteered her time and home for this purpose.Her love of animals was another guiding force, with a dog always at her feet.She generously supported many animal rescue organizations.If desired, memorial donations may be sent to the Chemung County SPCA, Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.Family and friends are invited to call at the Faith Community Church, temporarily located at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 813 Maple Ave., Elmira, NY 14904 on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 from 10 to 11 AM.Funeral services will follow there at 11 AM with Rev.
