Glenda L. (Clark) Brown

January 20, 1940 — October 12, 2024

Glenda L. (Clark) Brown, Age 84, formerly of Pine City NY, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Corning Guthrie Hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents, O. Kenneth and Virginia (Balmer) Clark; husband,  James W. Brown; daughter, Sharon Avery; infant daughter, Ellen Brown; grandson, Joshua Morse; brother, Gail Clark; sister, Greta Elston; brothers-in-law, Alan Brown, Hollis Raymond and Pete Elston; and sister-in-law, Adele Clark.

She is survived by daughters, Karen (Randy) Wida of Horseheads; Susan Tucker of Kenosha, WI; Evelyn (Chris) Austin of Horseheads; and son, Kevin Brown of Elmira; grandchildren, Melissa (Jeff) Benjamin, Heather (Greg) Corsi, Philip (Caroline) Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Christopher Avery, Emily Austin, Ashley (Mitchell) Woods; and seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Gwen Raymond of Mechanicsburg, PA; brothers, Gary (Mary) Clark of Bristol, VT,; Kenneth (Linda) Clark of Waverly, NY; sister-in-law, Lorice Brown of Salem, NH; and many very special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Glenda graduated from Waverly High School in June of 1958.  On August 16, 1958 she married the love of her life Jim. They were blessed with 38 years of marriage. They raised five children together and enjoyed traveling and camping all across the United States. Glenda was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon for many years. She was the “card lady” for both her church, family, and friends. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed each grandchild in their own way. She loved flowers, antiques, family gatherings, entertaining in her home, church work and traveling. Glenda spent her life selflessly caring for any family member or friend in need.

Family and friends are invited to call from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY. Her funeral will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 1:00 PM with Lay Pastor John Knapp officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn National Cemetery.
