Krise, George W. ?Joe? Beloved husband and father Age 84 of Elmira, NY passed away after an extended illness Tuesday, Oct 2, 2001 at Bath V.A. Hospital. Surviving are: His wife of 58 years, Martha Ostrom Krise. Daughters, Marlene (Tom) Baiz of Elmira, NY and Kay (Michael) Callahan of Liverpool, NY. Son, Marty (Alice) Krise of Johnson City, NY. 6 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren. Sister, Bernice (Roger) O?Connor of Vestal, NY Cousin, Alberta Brill. Several nieces and nephews. George was a devoted supporter and member of the Central Christian Church, Elmira. He was a Boy Scout leader and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. He was a heavy equipment operator with local union No.832 and had worked for various construction company?s in the area. He was the developer of Mormon Lake in Ridgebury Township, Bradford County, PA. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels. George was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army with the 154 2nd Engineer Survey Company in the Phillipines. He was a kind and devoted man who will be greatly missed on this earth. It was George?s request that there be no calling hours. A memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 7, 2001 at 2:30 PM at the Central Christian Church, 309 S. Main St., Elmira. The Rev. Richard Elliott will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Salem-St. Paul Cemetery, Liberty, PA.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY.
