Reverend Frederick Loyst Turner, resident of Appleridge in Horseheads, New York, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2009, at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, New York. He was 92 years old.Rev. Turner was born August 4, 1917, in Buffalo New York, son of Frederick H. and Blanche Gagnon Turner.He was married to Evelyn Bravo Turner who passed away in February 2007. Rev. Turner was pastor to various New York-area churches before his retirement from active ministry in 1980.He received an undergraduate degree from Cornell in 1939, graduated from Cornell law school in 1941 and was ordained a Methodist minister in 1947 after graduating from Drew Theological Seminary.He often explained his decision to forgo the practice of law and enter the ministry as necessitated by the times, or as Fred wrote in his last pastoral letter before retiring from Pennsylvania Avenue Methodist Church in 1980, "the world was going to hell [in 1941
