Frank D. Renko, 85, of Elmira, passed away on June 3rd, 2021. Frank was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on May 14th, 1936 to Frank and Natalie Renko Jr. The Chicago Cubs Organization signed Frank out of high school and for two years he played in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Returning home, he married Janet Case in 1956 and together they operated the well-known Renko’s Custom Meats.After retiring from the business, Frank opened Renko’s Pickled Polish Sausage.Frank loved spending summers with his family on Keuka Lake and in later years, enjoyed his winters in Florida. Frank is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Janet Case Renko, and his grandson, Benjamin Renko. Surviving are children, Julie Renko-Shanks, Steven, Susan Renko-Woods (Charles), David (Julie), Carolyn (Bruce) and Thomas (Kim), 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and loving companion, Marilyn Zinn. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date.
