Francis A. â??Windy�? Tobey

Age 85 of Millerton, PA, son of the late John M. and Cora Buchanan Tobey, passed away March 10, 2003 at The Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. He was born in Elmira, NY on July 11th, 1917. Francis is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Anna Kohan Tobey; son and daughter-in-law, John and Carol Tobey of Wellsboro, PA; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Frank Minotti of Kasper, WY; grandchildren Eric (Kathleen) Tobey; Tracy (James) Shiefen; Paul (Susan) Minotti; six great grandchildren. His grandson, Mark Minotti, predeceased Francis. Francis was a family man who was dedicated to his work as an engineer on the Pennsylvania Railroad. He loved to talk so much that his co-workers on the railroad nicknamed him ?Windy.? He loved carpentry work of all kinds, and built his own home and airplane. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved flying. He cherished the time he spent with his beloved wife, Anna, working in the garden that produced the best garlic around and refinishing priceless antique furniture that still is admired in many area homes. It was Francis?s wish to have a private funeral service for his family at their convenience. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc.
