Frances Louise Page Woughter, née Wales left to join her heavenly family and friends on September 16, 2024 at the age of 99. Born into a large family on November 15, 1924, Frances grew up on a farm in the hills of Pennsylvania, which gave her the green thumb she was known for when growing flowers or vegetables. Growing up during the Great Depression instilled a resourcefulness she carried throughout her life.
During World War II she worked as a lathe operator for Remington Rand. Frances was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes for her family including cheerleading uniforms for her daughter and the Southside High School cheerleading squad, and a beautiful wedding dress for her daughter-in-law. Frances loved music, square dancing, line dancing and a good polka, especially with her sister Hazel by her side. They were a fixture at the senior center dances! Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved spending time with her, and learned so much, from playing cards, board games, completing puzzles, baking cakes, and visiting parks.
Frances was preceded in death by: her husbands- Claude and Earl; her parents William and Mina (Henry) Wales; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are: her children - Eleanor (Arthur), Albert (Marion), and Daniel; her grandchildren -Pamela (Clifford), Anthony (Melanie), Jeffrey, Jennifer (Kirt), Brittany (Keith), Olivia (Korena); her great-grandchildren - Kirsten, Clay, Juaquin, Shane, Paige, Aaron, Quinn, Carter and Shawn; her sister-in-law Janet; and many nieces, nephews, and friends of her children.
Frances was a kind and loving person and will be dearly missed by us all.
A private internment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
