Frizzi, Ezio V. (Ed) Age 87 Of Southport, NY passed away Friday, January 3, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital. Ezio was born June 1, 1915 in Italy. He came to America at the age of 14 in 1929. His first years here, he worked as a pin chaser at a bowling alley, where he developed his love for the game of bowling. He also worked for New Process Gear in Syracuse, NY until 1955, at which time he became a partner with Tony Guinta in Dixie Bowling Lanes until 1985. Ezio was a top-notch bowler in Syracuse and Elmira for many years. He was a member of many championship teams and bowled numerous high scores. Ezio was a member of the Elmira Bowling Association, the Elmira Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and during his life, he attended 51 A.B.C. Tournaments. He is survived by his Italian born wife of 45 years: Maria Frizzi, nephew; Alfred Frizzi of Syracuse, NY and his family; and many nephews, nieces, and friends in Italy and in America. Family and Friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Sunday, January 5, 2003 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM in St. Mary?s Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira, NY, with Father Patrick Connor as Celebrant. Interment will take place in Italy at the convenience of the family. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of the 2nd floor of St Joseph?s Hospital for the wonderful care given to Ezio. They would also like to thank their many friends for their support, including the Chemung County Sheriff?s Department and the Southport Volunteer Fire Department.
