Eugene Beard

Age 78, of Elmira, NY, passed away February 24, 2002 at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Elmira.He is survived by: children; Fred (Kathleen) Beard, Barry (Diane) Beard, Virginia (William) Steele, Rickey (Cathy) Beard, David (Melinda) Beard, and Linda Beard all of Elmira, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.Gene was predeceased by his loving wife Genevieve (Jenny) Beard on October 25, 2001.Together, they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage.He was also predeceased by his son Daniel and family in 1975.Gene was the proprietor of the E. Beard Roofing company in Elmira, NY.He was a past member of the Elmira Moose Club #517.He was also the chairman of the Shuffle Board League.Gene was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors.He also held a special place in his heart for his beloved Jenny and his entire, wonderful family.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904, on Wednesday, February 27, 2002 from 4 pm until 8 pm.Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 28, 2002 at 11 am at the funeral home.The Rev.
