Ethel S. Moore

Ethel S. Moore Formerly of Liberty Street Elmira, NY age 99, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, July 19, 2002 at Bethany Manor where she resided. She was born June 7, 1903 in Elmira, the daughter of the late Elmer and Demarius (Clark) Strader. Her beloved husband Carl W. Moore preceded Ethel in death. She is survived by her beloved son, Richard Moore of Elmira, NY; sister-in-law, Miriam (Kenneth) Strader also of Elmira, NY; devoted nephew, James (Audrey) Ingram of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; along with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ethel was the oldest living member of the Riverside United Methodist Church on Spaulding Street. She worked with her husband who managed Endicott Johnson Shoe Store for many years. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Monday, July 22, 2002 from 2 to 4 PM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours. (4 PM) Her nephew, the Reverend Leslie Strader will officiate. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Cemetery. Those wishing may make Memorial Donations to a charity of one?s choice. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Bethany Manor for all the devoted care and compassion they gave to Ethel.
