Esther Louise Gleckner

Esther Louise Gleckner Age 93, was born August 7, 1924 in Williamsport, PA the daughter of the late John Raymond and Helen Esther (Rathmell) Lundy, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital SNF. Her sisters, Annie McCarthy, Alice Marie Butterworth, Martha Steinback and brother, William Lundy preceded her in death. In 1929 after her parents died, Esther lived at the former Evangelical United Brethren Orphanage with her four sisters and two brothers. Esther was married to the late Arlington R. Gleckner for 37 years. She graduated from Lewisburg High School. Early in life she worked at the former Sylvania in Montoursville, PA and later at Sears. Esther is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Denise Gleckner of Pine City, NY; Steve and Elizabeth Gleckner of Sierra Vista, AZ; brother, John Lundy; sister, Helen Smith; grandchildren: John Jr. with wife Lauren, James with wife Nicole, Matthew with wife Haley and Stephanie with husband, Clayton Skubis; great grandchildren: Gracyn, Jack, Liam, Dean, Eden, Evan, Abigale, Ryan and Leah; along with several nieces and nephews. At her request services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA 2435 Route # 352 Elmira, NY 14903. The Gleckner family wishes to express their special thanks and appreciation for the outstanding love and care given to Esther from Beth and the entire staff at St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing 5th Floor.
