Doris C. Houghtalen

Doris C. Houghtalen Age 86, was born September 22, 1931 in Elmira, NY. The daughter of the late Clyde & Margaret (Janowski) Curren, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Preceded in death by her husband of many years, Raymond H. Houghtalen. She is survived by her loving daughters: Pamela (Michael) Donovan and Susan Houghtalen; beloved grandchildren: Heather (Zack) Ramsey, Stephanie Schemerhorn, Megan (Zach) Fewkes, Michael Donovan and Brandon Donovan; great grandchildren: Payton, Alina, Harper, Aiden and Alivia; lifetime friend: Ann (Michael) Bonsignore. Doris was a graduate of Southside High School, class of 1949 and also a graduate ofAlfred University. She loved volunteering at the Steele Memorial Library and her church, the First United Church of Christ. Services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Steele Memorial Library 101 East Church Street, Elmira, NY 14901. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home.
