Doris V. Criss

Doris V. Criss Age 101 of Pine City, NY. went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born on August 25, 1919 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Irene (Baker) and Leman Kinner. She was a Sunday School teacher and choir member at the Elmira Baptist Church. She loved to bake, canning, and gardening. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Doris enjoyed wildlife and birds. Doris is survived by her son, David A. Criss of Pine City, NY; grandchildren, Eugene R. Criss, Jr. of Elmira, NY, Brian (Rose) Criss of Elmira, NY, Benjamin (Dawn) Criss of Falls, PA; great-granddaughters, Heather Stevens of Elmira, NY, Cathleen DeGrazia of Thompson, PA, Jacqui Topar of Scranton, PA; great-great-grandson, Austin Avery of Elmira, NY; several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Arleigh; sons, Phillip Lee, Eugene, Sr., daughter-in-law, Mary; brothers, Lee and Jack Kinner; sisters, Murna Wheeler, Elizabeth Criss, Donna Wheeler, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Penna. Ave., Elmira, on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM with funeral and committal services there at 7:30 PM. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Sagetown Cemetery, Pine City, NY.
