Donald F. Holmes

Donald F. Holmes, Age 82 of Millerton, PA passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 at home with his family at his side. Don was born March 8, 1942 in Elmira, NY son of the late Claude J. and Alice V. (Jones) Holmes. He attended local schools and following graduation from high school he and the former Viriginia A. (Treadeau) Holmes were married. Don was a lifelong area resident and was employed by various local body shops as a body repair technician. For many years prior to his retirement Don operated his own body shop in Millerton, PA. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many hours hunting, fishing and enjoyed all that the outdoors had to offer. Don found great enjoyment and loved the time he spent with his loving family and friends.

Surviving are his wife Virginia A. Holmes of Millerton, PA, son and daughter-in-law; Donald and Tresa Holmes, Jr.  of Millerton, PA, a granddaughter; Kylie (Kurtis Wolfe) Holmes of Greencastle, PA, a grandson; Collin Holmes of Millerton, PA, a brother and sister-in-law; Richard and Anne Holmes of Pine City, his sister; Judy Tolbert of Farmington, NY, step-brother; John and Melody Beard of Florida, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Don was predeceased by his parents; step-mother; Laura Holmes, a sister; Roberta Glover, and step-brother, Walter Facemyer.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Maple Avenue & Cedar Streets, Southport, NY. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904.
