Age 76, of Lawrenceville, PA died Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Corning Hospital, Corning, NY. Mr. Garrison was born May 1, 1926 in Lawrenceville, PA, the son of the late Manley and Leda (Burley) Garrison. Donald was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was devoted to his family and his church. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Bonnie Spencer Garrison, one son: Barry And Sue Garrison of Corning, NY, stepsons Kevin Reed of Corning, NY; and Randy Reed of Tioga, PA, three sisters: Marie And Freeman Ferris of Lawrenceville, PA, Lois Lauper of Elmira, NY, Ilba And Carl Wood of Horseheads, NY, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant brother, Boyd Garrison. Donald retired from Sears after 41 years of service as a senior sales manager. He was a past member of the Millerton Methodist Church, a current member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, PA , one of the founders of the Millerton Volunteer Fire Dept., and a Navy veteran of WWII. He served on the Williamson High School Guidance Advisory Council and for the past four years was the supervisor for local community service projects done by local students. He volunteered many hours with the church that he loved and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved to travel, and was dedicated to attending his grandchildren´s sporting activities no matter where they were held. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church, 6 Franklin St., Lawrenceville with Rev. Gary D. Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Lawrenceville Cemetery, Lawrenceville, PA at the convenience of the family.
