Hall, Denise A. age 24 was placed in the arms of her Lord, Sunday, July 1st, 2001 at the University Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Born on October 12th, 1976in Elmira, the beloved daughter of Gerald and Carol Slentz Hall of Elmira, New York.A life long resident and loved daughter of the Southside Community.She was a graduate of Southside High School Class of 1996. Denise loved her sports involvement, whether it be serious competition on the field with the varsity soccer team or a casual game of hoops or volleyball with friends, Denise was ready to play.She loved the health field; she extensively studied to be a nurse through the Arnot Ogden School of Nursing. Due to health difficulties, her education had to be cut short. People knew her best for her extensive teddy bear collection, her joyous smile, optimistic attitude, bravery and bubbly wit.Her life was not an easy one; it was full of trials that started when she was very young. How ever difficult it was, she never wanted sympathy. Besides her loving parents Gerald and Carol, Denise issurvived by her three brothers; Eric, Bruce, and Phil all of Elmira;Loving Grandfather, John Slentz of Florida; Uncles, Wes(Lyn) Slentz, Dave Slentz all of Florida, Aunt Lorraine (Jim) Farr of Lawrenceville, Pa. and several cousins.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Thursday, July 5th, 2001 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Elmira, 121 West Church Street, Elmira at 11:00am on Friday, July 6, 2001. The Reverend Marilyn Marston will officiate. Denise will be placed in peace at the Woodlawn Cemetery directly following the funeral service.In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorials in Denise?s name to the Ronald McDonald House, 500 Shady Lane, Pittsburgh, P 15232.
