David A. Loper

Age 68, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born April 29, 1946 in Elmira to the late Francis E. and Mildred (Carey) Loper. His wife of nearly 49 years, Sandra (Crain) Loper who were married July 17, 1965 survives him. The couple have 3 children: Denise (Bill) Dzikowski of Lyons, NY; David (Tammi Baldwin) Loper of Erin, NY; Lori (Dale) Dapp of Millerton, PA. They also have 6 grandchildren: Josh and Julia Dzikowski; Abbi and Alex Loper; Kayla and Ashley Dapp; great granddaughter, Kendall Klub; and was predeceased by grandson, Gregory Klub in September 2013; sister, Agnes Cundy. He is survived by 2 sisters, 2 brothers, also 2 special nephews, Jay (Tony) House, Todd Loper and his best fishing buddy Willy McGee; along with several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to a dear friend Loretta Smith for always being there for the Loper family. He ran his own business, Loper Construction for over 20 years. He loved fishing, hunting and anything out doors. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildrenand they loved and enjoyed their Pa Pa. He had 2 furry companions, "Oscar" and "Fuzzy". It was David's request for no viewing or receiving hours. He will be cremated at the families convenience. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church 1238 Pennsylvania Ave. Pine City, NY 14871 to celebrate Dave's life at a luncheon on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. Rev. Mark Erway will celebrate Dave's life at 2:30 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY.
