David F. Hart, 62, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at his home in Elmira, NY. Born on October 24, 1959 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of the late James Hart and Louis Padgett. David enjoyed and favored his time working with animals, most notably horses, but would put his whole heart into any work he was doing. He held positions with Totem Taxi for nine years, Omni Equestrian Center for three years, and most recently was a mechanic at Air Flo, where he worked alongside his son-in-law. In his spare time, he thrived at bingo and spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. David is survived by his daughter, Amber English of Elmira, NY; son, David Hart Jr. of Elmira, NY; and daughter, Katie Hart of Elmira, NY. His son-in-law, Randall Fleming, and grandchildren, Sean Smallwood, Dante Smallwood, Noelani Smallwood, and Raiden Fleming of Elmira, NY. His siblings; Kenneth and Dorothy Hart of Big Pond PA; James and Brenda Hart of Canton, PA; Mary and George Hill of Troy, PA; Bill and Wanda Hart of Columbia Crossroads PA; Dale Hart, Darlene Rumsey of Waverly, NY; Richard and Leatha Hart of Ulster NY; Robert Hart of Canton PA; and Sherry Rumsey of Barton NY; and a great grandbaby due this year. He is predeceased by his sister, Barbara Crandle, and his parents. David was put to rest by his family by cremation per his request. Friends may call from 3-4 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue in Elmira. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Falck Cancer Center at Arnot Hospital for going above and beyond for David the last two years of his life. He talked so highly of them and adored his nurses.
