Daniel D. Weed

ELMIRA - Daniel Delos Weed, "Trapper" age 58, left the earth on Monday, April 19, 2021, surrounded by his family. Dan was born and raised in Elmira and attended Southside High School. Dan was a devoted father to his daughter, Mary Elizabeth. He shared his passion for hunting and fishing with her and they shared many happy times hunting and fishing together. As an avid outdoorsman, Dan hunted, fished and trapped with a passion, and was noted for his skill at calling turkeys. Dan mentored other young hunters and fisherman and was often the person alongside a youth as they caught their first fish or harvested their first deer or turkey. Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth and his father, Harold, along with significant other, Charlene Chichester with whom he shared his daughter Mary. He leaves behind his daughter, and brothers: Paul, Brent, Richard and Craig, as well as many cousins, family and friends. No services will be held. All are welcome to a celebration of Dan’s life to be held on Saturday, April 24 at 2:00 PM at the home of Paul Weed.
