Daniel M. Ungvarsky

Daniel “Danny” M. Ungvarsky, 79 of Pine City, NY passed away suddenly on Monday, April 16, 2018 at home with his wife by his side. Danny was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Mary Ungvarsky, Sr.; siblings, Ann Lonczak, Joan Neilsen, Mary, Michael, Andrew (Agnes) Jr. , John and David Ungvarsky. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sharon L. Ungvarsky; children, Bruce (Erlinda) and Bryan (Karin) Carpenter; siblings, Agnes Hulbert, Margaret McAusland, Theresa Brinthaupt, Elizabeth (Richard) Besley and Mary Jane (Rick) Merritt; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Danny retired from Hardinge Inc. after 39 years of dedicated service. He was a US Army veteran. He loved to golf and bowl. Danny was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Bank of The Southern Tier, 388 Upper Oakwood Avenue, Elmira, NY 14903 or St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira, NY 14904 Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira. A mass celebrating Danny’s life will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery in Horseheads, NY with full military honors.
