Daniel F. Thomas (Danny) Age 69
of Elmira, NY, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Corning Center, Corning, NY.
Danny was born on December 16, 1952 in Elmira, NY.
Danny was a member of the NRA and contributed to the Wounded Warrior Project. He was a maintenance man at Toshiba Display Devices and at Notre Dame High School. Danny was an avid hunter and fisherman. Danny enjoyed wathching NASCAR racing and football, and enjoyed helping all his neighbors. Danny was an avid story teller with a HEART OF GOLD, his "gift of gab" was often colorful.
Danny is survived by his fiancee, Dedra Thompson, and her sons, Jason Aiken and Robert VanNess, Jr.; son, Brad (Lisa) Thomas of Victor, NY and their children, Zachary, Christian, and Rogan. Son, Mark Thomas of Elmira, NY and his children, Dominick and Kaelynn; sisters, Linda (James) Agan of Elmira, NY, Marilyn (Donald) Melvin of Leesburg, FL, brother, James (Karen) Thomas of Elmira, NY; special aunt, Barbara Rothwell; uncles, Rev. Walter Wainwright and James (Eileen) Wainwright.
Danny was predeceased by his mother, June (Wainwright) Hartley and father, Harold (Cy) Thomas.
Friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Penna. Ave., Elmira, NY on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the second floor staff at the Corning Center for their care, compassion, and support given to Danny and the family over the past three months.
