Cora Emmogene Cox Mattison (Granny), 85 of Elmira, NY passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018. Born in Clarksburg, WV to the late William Calvin and Faye Johnson Cox. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald L. Mattison; two sisters, Erma Randolph and baby sister, Nancy Jo Clark; son, Donald C. Mattison and a daughter, Judy (Robert) Briggs; 11 grandchildren; Joe, Jason, Justin, Dennison, Don, Shannon, Crissy, JR, Cam, Tessie, Calvin, Rebecca Mattison 32 great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Emmy was predeceased by 16 brothers, W. Otto, C. Leco, Charles R., Leonard P., Charles O., Kenneth L., Bussy E., Carlos W., Vaughn E., James T., Paul L., Glen M., Hobert L., Robert L., Ernest V. and twin brother, Lawarence E. Cox; three sisters, Claudia M. Mayes, Ova D. Strothers, and Betty M. Myers; and granddaughter, Christina Attwell. Emmy was a homemaker and a wonderful mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, playing cards, gambling, and mostly time spent with her family. Her fondest title in life was “Granny.” Emmy will be greatly missed by all who loved her. “Mommy, I know you’re in that big house on the hill with your brothers, sisters and your mom and dad. You will be forever missed until we meet again.” As per Emmy’s wishes there will be no services. A private service will be held at a later date.
